ok so the concerto competition: the people i heard were yena (piano), some other piano guy, i don't know his name, lucas, genevieve and lorna (cellos), melissa and james (violin), brendan (oboe), susan and jeff (flutes). okay, i thought the best ones i heard were melissa's, lorna's and jeff's. melissa was soooo awesome, like, whoa! her violin resonated sooo well. james' was super good too, but unfortunately, he kinda messed up and forgot a chunk of his music. for like two seconds. lorna was the best out of the three cellos, i though. after brendan's oboe performance, i got bored, so i left to practise. about 6:30, andrea stuart came into my room and asked me if i knew who won, and i said no. and she told me NO STRINGS WON. WHOA!! that's soooo not cool. i was so surprised, and andrea's like "yeah, i'm so pissed off right now. it's biased! i'm done with the concerto competition!" so yeah..... it's so shitty. there was only one adjudacator there too. which is really weird. well, yena won, and jeff, and two oboes (two!), some flute girl, i dunno, and JP, some... guy. i don't know him, but andrea told me he won.

mian..... this is so disappointing. melissa was friggin at the top, probably the best i've heard her play for that piece. i can't believe no strings won. argh. oh well.

Oh my fuckin god... the spur was soooooo much fun. i'm so glad i went! :) people kept stealing my drink. hee hee... omgomgomg, i went to smoke with OLAF and Brandon Valdivia and Kevin Salterelli. it was sooo much fun! Olaf is HOT... and ian got upset cuz we didn't invite him. omg, brandon and olaf are sooo hilarious, cuz we were listening to radiohead, and brandon and olaf are drumming perfectly to the music and them three were analyzing the beats. ("this is definately in 10/8... 1,2,1,2,1,2,3,..."). it was like being in a skills class, only we were really fucked. hehehehe!! olaf is hot! brandon's soooo nice. he's my percussion buddy! :D
when i came back, and we were going through the entrance, the security dude who checked everyone's ID was hitting on me. like, OMG! he was like, "hey nice seeing you again" (or somethin like that) and i'm like "yeah, i'm back! i just went to chill with my friends!" (cuz i didn't want to tell him we were smokin up). so he's like "it's still nice to see you again!" hahahaha and then our convo was cut short cuz the security guy who was guarding the door told me to come in and stop blocking the door. oops. and then shannon's brother's roommate starting hitting on me. hahaha he was pretty hot though, so it's alright (OMG....totally NOT like the narsty Irish guy at Louie's. omg...ew.ew.ew). anyways, so he asked me to dance, so we danced. and then we came back after the song and i was trying to find my jacket and after a while he came and sat next to me and said "i'm sorry for this" and i was like "it's okay" but i didn't know what the hell he was sorry for. and then he fuckin kissed me. what the hell?!?! i was so embarassed. and all these people at his table were looking at us. i was so embarassed... :( oh well. anyways, then he left after a bit, and then we left. i found my purse and jacket.

OMGOMG... bethany and i sang Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds. OMG it was soooooooooo hot!!!! shannon and STEEEEEEEEVE were there, and apparently, so was brandon. he loved our singing cuz it had energy! hahaha that song is fuckin awesome, i tell ya.

OH MY GAWD. and i saw Saira there!!!!!! i haven't seen her since commencement!!! omg, i met her friends too, they're all really nice! :D aww... Saira and i had a nice chat about the reunion coming up in May. awww... i can't wait for that! it'll be sooo much fun!

argh... okay, i'm so pissed off at warren now. wtf is his problem?! argh... he's been ignoring me all day. argh.. what a fucker. okay whatever.

anyways... i gotta get to bed. i'll post about the concerto competition tomorrow.

im in the CAi lab again. hahaha i'm a music nuuurd. i was carrying my guitar and violin all day yesterday. hahaha... jeremy commented on how my guitar looks like a cello. meh. i had a good lesson yesterday. it made me happy and i practised for another hour and a half after my lesson. bethany and i chilled, walked around the concourse and then back in the practise rooms. she bought this really nice music from musicplus, so we played it. i like productive days. :) omg, i was on this music website last night, and i found these music jokes. the violin jokes are sooo bad! it made me sad, cuz one of them insulted second violinists. the cello jokes were soo funny though. and the guitar jokes too. ha ha ha!

its only monday. what the hell.
yesterday, warren came with me to the Kreisler concert. i think he was kinda bored. oh well. we had cake afterwards, thanks to Jerzy. happy 130th birthday, Kreisler.
after that we walked home to get books and walked to the library to study. i spent 3 hours doing my damn theory assignment. bah. Warren started mocking Kreisler. it was pretty funny tho. and then he asked me about staccatos and stuff, cuz he didn't understand when Justin was introducing the pieces. hahaha so cute. then i went to the CAI lab to do macgamut. Liz came in and asked me why i didn't go to Jerzy's party. i told her i didn't know about it. and besides i had work to do. meh. there were lots of people in the CAI lab, seeing that it was a sunday night. Laura and Andres came in afterwards, and Laura was like "you missed Jerzy's party!!!" i said, "i knoww... oh well." and when i told them i was hungry cuz i haven't had dinner, Laura and Andres were like "you should've went to Jerzy's.... we had tenderloin and salad and homemade cookies and..." and he was naming all the stuff that was there. i told him to shut up. Phil and I were msning too, it was fun. and he was sitting literally right behind me in the CAI lab. haha we were talking about how hungry we were. cuz he hadn't had dinner yet either.

i ended up not practising last night cuz i didn't wanna walk home by myself so late, and Phil was walking to MacDonnell Village for food, which is almost pretty much the smae way as walking home. so i just walked home. meh.

today was a shitty day. it's not even funny. i was so frustrated and worried about macgamut and my MT audition, i first forgot my theory assignment. bah. and then i skipped psych again so i could finish my macgamut before theory, and i didn't even finish it cuz macgamut's such a fucker. and then after theory i had to run home to get the assignment and my instrument, and go practise before the MT audition at 2:30. fuck.... so i got to the practise rooms at 1:45, and they were ALL FULL. even the modules. i was so pissed off and stressed, i was almost crying. and there were no free classrooms to practise in either. i finally found a room at 2. so i only got to practise for like 20 minutes. and i totally did fuck up on my play and sing. stupid rainbow. i hate that song now. fucking wizard of oz... argh!! my improv was alright. i had to improv to a picture of kids on the beach. and my interview was alright too. i think? after the actual questions, Arnason asked me about my academic plan, cuz i'm on probation and blahblahblah... so i told her im gonna catch up on psych during the summer. but i'll do 2nd yr theory next year cuz summer theory is too intensive for me. she gave me a weird look, and told me that she highly recommend me to go talk to Janice, the academic counsellor. *sigh*....

stupid orchestra too. what the fuck. i hate what we're playing. except the Romeo and Juliet piece. Wagner SUCKS. argh. what the fuck. stupid orchestra.

Concerto Competition Review

Laura went first for violin, and it was quite good! pretty much the same as in masterclass. but she's good candidate for going first, cuz she has a really good performing style. :D yiay laura!
fran and shannon, you guys suck for missing James' performance, it was really good! he was so into it :D he didn't get to play the entire concerto though, which sucks, cuz the ending's the best part.
Melissa: OH MY GAWD. i swear, tihs girl is gonna be famous one day, her performance totally blew me away. she was the first one to really stick out. supppppppperrrrr!! i wish all of you could've been there for it. soooo good!!! i love melissa, she's awesome :D
Justin's: okay, first of all... Justin looked HOT (!!) in his suit. whooo!! fran was like "you wanted to jump him, didn't you?" and i was like, "damn right!" too bad justin's kind of an asshole. bah... but soooo hot!! his performance was good, but i think he was one of the weaker ones, playing-wise, in the group. sorry justin.
Caitlan's piece was quite good, cept she forgot a huge chunk of her music. it's okay... her chords were really good though.
Laurissa was so cute! her facial expressions were really interesting to look at. she was the only one who actually smiled while playing. granted, not all the time, but whenever she could. it was cute. her chords were awesome as well. yiay!

Katie: yiay katie! i'm so proud of her, she got over her stage fright, and actually played really well. :)
I thought Liz played better in masterclass than she did in the compeition. but nonetheless, it was still awesome.

during the break i went to the MOFO and listened one one piano competitors. i didn't know her, but she played awesome. went back upstaires for CELLOS!!!!

holy mutha fucka... everyone was awesome! i never go to cello masterclasses, so i never hear them play. im not gonna review everyone like i did violins, but a few people definately stood out in my mind. okay... shut up, music people, cuz no matter what you say, Andres was sexy when he played his piece. OMG. he was like sooo into it, and i honestly didn't even know he could do that! whoa..... Lucas' piece was crazy fast! and he did it so well too! i've never heard Lorna play, and honest to god, my jaw dropped when she started. she can frickin play that thing! hollleee... and Andrea's piece was sad, and she played it so well, i almost cried. awww... oh man... they were sooo awesome. cellos are sooo sexy. i wish i played the cello.

i watched The Grudge 2 with warren and yiew wah and their friend ( i dunno his name) last night. the original japanese version. (well, the 2nd one hasn't come out in regular theaters). omg, soooo fuckin scary!! haha yiew wah was scared to go to the bathroom by herself. anyway, i was so scared after the movie that i stayed for another hour and a half before i went home. *sigh*... im a loser. hahaha! but i convinced warren to come to the Kreisler concert with me on sunday (well, i didn't have to convince him, i just asked him to go with me, and he's like, okay..)!! yiay! omg, im sooo excited! kreisler rocks! i wanna see what my fellow violinists came up with. hahaha according to etelka, there's gonna be a slideshow too, and i know melissa and some other people are gonna be playing little kreisler pieces. hee hee!

music formal was alright. it was fun getting ready. the actual formal wasn't as good as i hoped it would be, but everyone was hot! i was pretty much ready to leave by 11. meh. i stuck it out... and then found out string people (kat, ivan, amy and laura) were going to melissa's place. so i ditched people and went with them. i loooove hanging out with orchestra people (and dan of course). oh man.... dan- i'm sooooo sorry!! bah. so justin, dan and i were standing in the kitchen with tom, heather, brandon and them, and justin and dan were smoking this huuuuge joint. and justin was like smoking right in my face, so i waved the smoke away from my face, and i accidently (!) whacked the ashes off in dan's face. ohhh maannn... i feel SOOOOOO bad about it! :( and then dan started being a bitch to me (in a jokingly way) and kept telling everyone how he's blind in his right eye because of me. meh! and melissa, who was playing a gig in guelph came home right when we were about to leave. but at least we got to see her! :) all in all, it was a night with a good ending, and i love good endings.

ok, yesterday's (wednesday) lecture by Law Wing-Fai, and the Chinese new music concert was fucken AWESOME!! granted, i'm not keen on new music, but this one was actually pretty good! Wong Ching joined members of ICE and Jeremy for a group improvisation. it sounded pretty cool. :D while Law Wing-Fai was lecturing (before the new music concert), i suddenly thought.... what if he's related to Janice? ha ha... i never got to ask him. oh well. i congratulated Wong Ching though. in mandarin too (cuz she doesn't know any Eng-uh-lish-oo)! *grin* that's right... ha ha ha! she's so shy... it's almost cute!

anywhoo... yeah. oh, my MT audition's on the 24th. argh!!! so not ready for it!!! bah. i practised my piano/singing piece yesterday though.... it still sucks a lot, but it's coming along.... kinda.

- OMFG-- Music at Noon today was fuckin amazing! it's like one of those moments when i actally felt connected. *heart!* :D!! oh man... seriously though, it was really good. after the first zheng performance, dwight was like, holy crap! that was awesome! and then this old lady who sat beside me (and was late) was like (after the yangquing performance), wow! too bad i missed the first one! hee hee... but yeah, the yangquing (ha ha nice translation) performer was awesome! i know how hard that is to play, and she did soooooo well. the erhu man was really good too! (cept, no offense, i've heard better.... but still!! he was good!!) maaannn..... overall, such a great performance. i love noon concerts!

my dad called this evening. talked to me about making up with my mom. and take off the piercing for her.
