yay for posting! i haven't posted in sooo long.
well... it feels that way.
i'm actually taking a break from studying and homework. haha.. it's fun. what a great day! i talked to Terry today about switching to his skills class, and he said it was okay! YAY!!! Terry Kroetsch!! i told mike the percussionist (not cute mike percussionist... the other mike percussionist) and he asked me who i have for skills now, and i told him Carol Bauman, and he looked all surprised and told me how she has breat cancer. i felt kinda bad, but then having breast cancer doesn't mean that you have to be a bad (or mediocre) skills teacher. *shrug*... okay, i'm cold hearted... so sue me. i just want the marks.

anywhoo! last night i went to the Rude with Timmy for drinks AND cheescake! it was awesome! i got a menengitis vaccine shot on monday, so my arm was pretty sore yesterday and i couldn't play for open mic. hell... i couldn't even practise. it still hurts today, but not as much. feels like my muscles are all stiff and shit. anywhoo... but it was fun chatting with Tim Louis and Ryan and Elaine and all the cool people who jammed.

ummm... what else...? oh! our bathroom is being painted today! it looks really nice so far! all clean and beige! and our new porch/deck is being built now too! YAY for new porches!

haha i watched the family guy movie yesterday, it was hilarious! my favourite part was the Sound of Music impersonation. i love Julie Andrews, who is my queen. *heart*

i was just about to post something about missing my friends, and i saw nique's post on the crazies. :( it was so touching. i usually don't bother reading song lyrics on a website, but i read that one all the way through, and it made me sad.

anyway... i was going to reflect on the fact that i feel so detached from everyone this school year. i mean, i don't know any of the first yr violinists, besides knowing their face (and even that, i don't know everyone). i barely have any classes with people in my own year, and i'm not living with any music people.
oh, and warren and i haven't hung out once, and neither have i and andrew abela. i know everyone's all busy and stuff, but still... it sucks. well... warren's always postponing hanging out with me. last time, he asked for a raincheck, and i was like "no i don't do those, because i know people always forget, and i'd rather not have people owe me." ha. i think he took it the wrong way. whatever.

the good thing is that i really like my new roommates, they're awesome. our unit of the house is finally starting to get some real renovations. we got a new fridge, new stove, new water taps, and vlad (the fixer dude) is coming in tomorrow and continue fixing up our bathroom. it's gonna look so awesome! today we all drove to the hmoe depot to buy a new shelf for our bathroom, and taps for the tub. it was a fun little trip. haha..

i have so much reading to do, i'm getting flustered. you know that feeling when you have so much to do and you don't know what to do first, so you don't do anything at all? yeah... that's how i'm feeling right now.

anywhoo... i'm gonna try one more attempt at reading more music history. wish me luck.

well yesterday afternoon, when i was at home in scarbro, i decided to watch The Joy Luck Club. Nan recommended that i watch it with my mother, but i found out that my mother was the one who bought the dvd, and already watched it a long time ago. anyway... i watched it by myself, and i'm not even kidding, i cried like a baby. some parts of it were so touching, and it's something i can totally relate to. aaahhh.... it really is a mother-daughter movie.

anyway.... Lorna and i looked over each other's Apocalyptica pics. i got mine developed yesterday. some of them didn't come out at all, which really sucks. but there were a few that came out awesome, and those totally make up for all the shitty pics. i'm actually going to blow one or two (one for sure) up and put them up as a poster in my room. it's really really hot! :) i love my hot finnish cellists. *heart*

anywhoo.... my break is over... back to being a nurd. yay baroque music! allemande! courante! sarabande! gigue!

OH MY GOD.... the Apocalyptica concert was fuckin AWESOME!!!!!! seriously.. oh man... it was sooo great. hearing them live is a million times better! when the first band opened for them, lucas and i were outside chatting. he was sooo mellow. it sucked, cuz i wanted to be hyper. but i got a good dose of lucas, and i almost fell asleep. that party pooper. when apocalyptica started up we went in, and i dove into the front row... but off to the side. lucas went... somewhere else, i don't know. they played sooo many metallica songs! it was great!! the highlight of the night was when they played Nothing Else Matters (aka the Joni Glidden song, who, bythe way, wasn't there at the concert). oooohhhh maaaaannn... it was so fuckin orgasmic! i loooved Inquisition Symphony too. it's one of my other favs of theirs. anywhoo... the concert ended at about 9:30, and afterwards Lorna, Lucas Lorna's brother, and her highschool friends all waited til they came out. i swear to god, they are the most nicest, down to earth musicians i have ever met. you know how some rock starts are all assholes just cuz they're rich and famous? not them! perttu was so shy, it was the cutest thing. but on stage, he was the first one with his shirt off, leather pants, and i heard he goes commando under them! so Lorna was like "how many personalities do you have?" cuz he's so differnt off stage. and pertu was just standing like counting his fingers.. hahah! but yeah.. it was awesome chatting with them. and then we talked to the drummer, he was also very nice. he has cute hair. hahah. yeah... i don't know his name. but he signed my ticket as well. me, Lorna and Eicca had the coolest chat. we were talking about technique and stuff, and i told him that i played violin, and we (me and lorna) wanted to know how he kept his wrist (or arm, but it looked like he was playing from his wrist) soo relaxed, especially during the 32th notes. and eicca was like "just play from your ass! or your back." but yeah.. it was like a mini masterclass! with eicca! *heart!!* i seriously love them so much, they awesome. and when eicca was signing my ticket, he didn't know that he was only supposed to sign one, so he signed all 3 of them. haha it was funny. oh well. paavo was the last to come outside, and he was Lorna's favourite, so we had to wait til he came out. and we got pictures and all that good stuff, but we all had to agree that he was a bit of a letdown, compared to the bonding that we did with perttu and eicca and the drummer. oh well.. and then Lorna's brother drove me home and i didn't have to take the bus! yaaaayyyy!!

this morning's meeting in jeremy's room (my violin studio teacher) was really interesting. we started off talking about our summers and music related stuff, then for some reason, it branched off to talking about cadavers and skinning people to see their muscles and stuff. it was weird. but fun still.

i'm at Fran's right now. i love her new room, it's so cozy! it's like being in a cave! awww.... but it would be nice to go home right now... but it's such a nuisance cuz there's construction all over. bah. ah well...

anyway.... i'm le tired. im gonna go hang out with fran and amie.

i just want to comment that i really really fucking hate little frosh kids who wear skirts so short that i can pretty much see their asses and get trashed and walk all around town talking at the top of their lungs. really... that is so degrading. ugh...

i just came back from going out with timmy and a bunch of his roommates. we had a drink at the Rude, and then walked home. on the way, these 3 girls were in front of us. two of them were holding up this one girl who was absolutely trashed out of her mind. we got sick of walking behind them, so we walked faster to get in front of them, and i turned around to see the girl who was really trashed, and lo and behold, it was shermeen. that blind girl who went to ACI. anyways... i told timmy, and we were all surprised and stuff, but timmy was kinda buzzed himself and started saying that blind people should be allowed to drink too. *rolls eyes*... anyways.... it just wasn't cool. and really.... her skirt just wasn't short enough. *rolls eyes in disgust*

okay, i'm done complaining. there's a laurier international students dinner party at the Rude tomorrow. i'm actually really excited, because fran's a mentor, and i'm hoping to meet her exchange students. i dunno if she's gonna be there, but... hopefully! anyway.... im gonna go... i have a meeting with jeremy tomorrow. i'm sooo nervous, because i wrote him a long email telling him about my schedule and plans and stuff, and his reply was only one sentence: to go see him soon. so... i'm worried that he doesn't like me anymore. aww... so yeah... i gotta prepare for that.

but before i part, i would like to say that i saw amie, james, liz and joni glidden today. i miss my strings people. *heart*

anywhoo.... i ushered tihs morning. it was ofr a graduate studies' orientation. it was sooo boring. i actually fell asleep during the 2-hour presentation.

i could write this long post about my shitty life and whatnot, but i'll spare everyone of having to read my complaints. instead, i'll let y'all know that i can't wait til school starts in a week.

the weekend was busy. busker festival in waterloo was alright. good for business. haha it kinda sucked that i had to work all weekend. first summer here, and something cool like this happens and i can't even watch. oh well. saturday night was the adult show, it was pretty awesome. i only watched a bit of it from the patio, but there were these two guys on stage stripping. totally naked. it was awesome. i was too far to see anything on the front, but i saw their bums. hee hee... and then it started pouring and tons of people ran to the Rude. hahaha fuckin awesome. saturday night was also the night that robbie and ryan celebrated their birthdays together and sonya's last shift, so everyone was there partying. robbie was also supposed to close, but he asked if i could do it for him, so i agreed, just cuz it was his birthday, and i know the closer would be in for a long time. so... yeah... i didn't finish my shift til 1:15am... i started at 4. yeah... i was fuckin tired as hell. but after my shift, i was just like, give me a damn beer, i have to sit down. haha... it was good good fun. most of the buskers who performed that night were all chilling at the Rude, so we were hanging out with them too. i met this one girl who plays violin while walking of stilts. she's awesome :) so yeah... i didn't get home til 3. haha it was cool. rory drove me home.

anyway.... bryon's moving out. it's so sad. he's the best roommate i ever had, hands down. he's pretty pissed off about his new place though. apparently, they're all slobs. *tug at collar*. well, i told him to come visit anytime. i still have his book, so we'll be in touch. i met this one guy who is moved in today, in another unit. i think we're gonna hang out later tonight. we'll see. and the other new girl in my unit is moving in on wednesday. yay! dave, my landlord was moving old furniture out the her room today, left by the old girl who was there. and he told me that the new girl wanted to talk to the people here, so i gave him my new cell phone number, and maybe she'll call me. i dunno...

anyway..... i gotta go practise now. i haven't gotten around to practising for a while. i don't think i'm gonna be playing with ania this summer anymore. we never got around to putting it together. i need the music back from her though, because i'm still putting together bartok with nancy, and now matty as well. so i fuckin gotta practice.

back in scarbro for a few days... it's been fun so far. my family and i went to see the famous people show this evening. it was really good! i even got a bday card from them! and at the end of the show, this guy proposed to this girl! oh man... it was the sweetest thing! i only see proposals on tv, so it was cool seeing it in real life.

note to self: i gotta stop spending so much $$.... gotta save up for africa.... africa... africa....

in more recent news.... i finally bought my apocalyptica tickets! oh man... i am SOOOOO excited!!!! eeeee!!!!! i just downloaded one of their music videos, because i've never seen them play or sing, even in a music video. it made me so hyped up! haha! *bounce bounce bounce* i'm excited!!

yay it's the last day of SOSI today! all those kids running around and taking up the practise rooms annoy me. hahhaha.

so i'm not in guelph. ah well.... no biggie. carm called me this morning and said she and michelle planned to hang out since they were on rocky terms with each other. so i ended up hanging out with nancy all day. it was fun.... most of the time. :)

anywhoo... so last night i played at open mic at the Rude. i didn't play much, and it wasn't even with tim. ah well. john, this guy who plays at the Rude on wednesdays bought me a rose, cuz we were all hanging out on the patio, and tihs woman selling roses came up to us and was like "wanna buy a rose? it's for the firefighters' charity" or something like that... so yeah. it was fun chatting up a storm with john. he introduced me to this other guy, jay, who just moved to KW. he's super nice and has a hot piercing. :) he asked when i was gonna work next, and i told him saturday, and he's like "okay, i'm gonna come a bit after 6 and visit you." yaayyyyy!

anywhoo.... yeah, i'm done.

in the CAI lab.... haven't been able to get internet in my laptop for like two weeks now. fun.

my birthday was le fun. i actually got got hang out with warren at taste of the danforth. but then he had to ditch me. oh well. the hospital was meh. dinner with my family was actually really good. then picked up carmen, went to the LCBO, bought wine (carmen bought me Cat's Pee on a Gooseberry Bush), then headed over to mikey's. sarah and liza showed up not too long afterwards. yay for white haven-ites! tee hee! so yeah... we hung out for a bit, watched robot chicken (which is frickin hilarious!), drank wine, and basically just sat around. it was le fun :) i love my fellow calendars.

anyway... work last night was loooong. well, it wasn't really that long. but it felt like it cuz we were busy since a really good band came in to play. nancy and bernice came to visit me. nan and i hung out the whole day before i went to work. we went to visit her bf, who is a dick (long story). she oughta break up with him. plus, he's heinous. hahahah! right. anyway... ginger got really drunk last night. it was pretty funny. i was pre-bussing bottles and glasses as usual, and ginger stumbles in the door and announces that she has to pee. so i kinda helped her into the bathroom cuz i didn't want her to fall over. when we were close to the bathroom, she suddenly hugs me and starts kissing me. lol! ohhh ginger! anyway... so she was in the bathroom for a while, so i decided to check up on her, see if she didn't pass out or anything. but she came out, and i kinda help her back outside and she says to me "i love you!" and kissed me again. lol... it was hilarious. oh, and then she told me to change the toilet paper in the bathroom and leave. it was great! i hate closing with andrea (the bartender) cuz she never lets me leave! so i finish up, order a pint and start drinking outside. and it was already past 1am at the time. but it was awesome. what was more awesome was that sebastian and i conversed! yaaayyy i like sebastian! he's awesome. he usually leaves pretty soon after his shift but last night he stayed til really late. and he kept asking me when i was done. i was like "probably not soon... since i'm working with andrea." heh heh heh... but yeah... i'm glad we got to hang out. oh, and i met nathan's childhood friend, michelle. she's really nice and really easy to talk to. yaa-aayy. i really hope she gets to work at Rude too, it would be like a party every shift! then we all headed to starlight. dancing was an effort, but we tried. michelle told me some stuff about nathan, which was... intresting.. *shifty eyes* after we got kicked out of starlight, we went back to the rude to drink some more. well.... nathan and beckford did. it was pretty funny cuz jen and sonya were closing, and no one was there, cuz the place was closed, and suddenly a bunch of us walk in. haha! anywhoo... and after a bit more hanging out, michelle drove me home. and we all had to listen to nathan complain about not listening to his drum and bass cd. *rolls eyes*...

in other news, audrey's pregnant again! audrey is my favourite cousin, i love her so much! yayyyyyy!!!! yay for babies!

i wanted to party and dance last night, and Ania, this hot biatch i work with, and i planned it all out. she even left me her number so in case she left after work, i could still call her. so i called her, and then she never showed up. ugh. and i even told chris. and he said he'd be with his friends but he'd tell me where he was going so we can all go, but he left without even saying bye. ugh, what an ass. so i just ended up chillin at Rude with my work buddies. after a couple beers and a j, we (me laura and beckford) went to the Vault and danced for a bit. but it sucked, and i got bored and tired. so all in all, it didn't work out as planned. i got sad, went home, and re-read HBP.
and yeah. bethany went home this weekend. so even though she promised to come partying with me, she couldn't. i hate my birthday. every year, something goes wrong. ah well.... anyways...

i actually went to the danforth with warren today. he gave me a nectarine. hahaha. ooookay. i never met up with fran, cuz she didn't call me this morning *ahem* (yeah, fran) anyways... then warren had to ditch me, so i walked around by myself like a loner, until i bumped into natalie and another girl whom i wish not to speak her name. after chatting for a bit, i went home. ugh... so uneventful. ah well.
