The French king, Louis XIV, also known as the Sun King lived the palace Versailles, where he lived an elegant life. He continuously made improvments to his house, adding decorations, and guilding roofs fences and balconies to reflect the sun's rays. Unfortunately, he was wasting so much money, the rest of France began protesting, more and more, until Louis XIV was ordered to be killed.(i think) Many Rococo art painters used light pastel colours and had many aristocrats going on picnics, walks and having fun. This contrasts to the Baroque style because Baroque artists such as Rembrant, used mainly dark colours, and the subjects of their work are mostly biblical stories. (ex. The Blinding of Sampson). Rococo art also contrasted with the Baroque in that Rococo art seemed to have more natural light, while Baroque paintings had strong contrast of dark and light, and the light source seem to come from only one side. During the Rococo period, both women's and men's hairdos grew taller and taller, and this affected the interior design of the houses by aquiring the arcitechs to raise the doors higher so that they can go through. Francisco Goya, a popular Rococo artist painted royal aristocrats during the early stages of his career. Later, he painted many violent paintings, which included "The Third of May", an event that took place in the late 1800's when the Spanish people were under attack by the French. Goya witnessed a "killing" of the Spanish people, and in his work "The Third of May", a line of French soldiers are pointing guns at a group of Spanish. You can see that one man is already dead, and the rest are showing different reactions, from frightened, to begging, to hiding.
there's so much more i wanna write, but i know i'm boring y'all to death, so...i'll post more later, and it won't be about the Rococo period, although, i DO like it a lot. it's fun!

wow i can actually sign in to this thing now!
so.... today wasn't as bad as i thought, even though afterwards, i was bored as hell. so yea, i went to art for a while, came back early so that we could go to the Kiwanis Trophy Showcase thing. we met up with Bernard and Eugene (not the guy from school...this other kid) and their parents and then we watched the show. it was basically performances from different Kiwanis categories, including the 5 Trophy winners. (which were the person with the highest scores in each of their category) Joanna Tang was the strings one! omg, she's fucking amazing. she's my cousin! i'm serious! during intermission, she came over and we talked a bit. it was cool. the piano winner was this guy who looked like Ori. (my old violin teacher's son) but wow, he played really well (duh) but both Bernard and i thought his piece was not good. he said it's too abstract.
anywhoo, there was this other girl who played piano. she didn't win the award or anything, but holy shit, she was good! must've been like, 8 or 9 years old! and then there were these two little kids who fiddled. haha so cute! and...the flute winner, Sarah Moon. she also won the President's Award...or somethin like that. but her song was looooong. and it was also an abstract song. so tiring, omg...lol. i seriously thought Joanna was gonna win. oh well.
anywhoo after that we wnet ohme. it was like 4:10, so we didn't go to math. hahaha!! nice. but then we got home, and i was so very bored.
Nique and everyone's at Elliot's party. paahhh... no one to hang out with. ah well. still contemplating if i should go to the TYWO (Tai Woe...hahah i love that name!) concert tomorrow or not. hmmmm...

ok my computer's fucked up. i can't sign in to either of my emails and my blog. i'm on my brother's computer right now. he's not home. muahahaha!!
anywhoo, i had quite an interesting day. Music Fest went really well, considering the fact that everyone was so tired and stuff. we were riding on the coach to the place, and we saw these cool lisence plates. one of them said YAWN and another car's had YRU SAD. hahaha then Gabe said when he has a car, his lisence plate will say GABE. hahah he's so cute.
anywhoo, yea, we got double gold, and we made it to nationals.(only national, carmen, not international. lol!) my Florentiner part sucked. i still don't know my part, but what the hell. ummm...then we went to listen and ajudicate Marham District's, and holy shit, they were good! esp their Armenian Dances! wowee! the other school we ajudicated was Crestwood S.S. and....well... they were pretty crappy. they were a small band, so it was quite different. i gave them high marks for focus and presentation, but pretty bad in everything else. well, i mean, they tried, and i guess that's what counts. but can't ignore the intonation- that was horrible. *ahem*
anywhoo, we got back at 1:50, and at that point i was feeling like shit. was really tired, and on top of that, i had ..err...a stomach ache. yes...that's it. haha but i went over to Kate and Mike and Tim anyways cuz i haven't seen Kate in like, two days. and then lunch ended and Matt and i walked to his English class, and i went to the library, picked out a book, checked it out, and went to those staires near my locker to read.
afterschool, i hung out with Carmen Matt and Emilia and then went to violin lessons. and it was really tiring cuz he made me play a lot.
and to wrap it all up, here i am typing.
anyways, i think that's it for now. holy shit, it's Friday already. this week went by way too fast. alright, i'm out.

i added Rachel's blog's link on, so... if anyone has time, go take a look at it.
to sum it up, today was a crappy day. it's not anyone's fault but mine, so... ah well.
what is the deal with girls and mood swings? seriously.
argg...ok i wish it were spring right now, so at least i would have something to do during lunch. *sigh* fudge...
the only bright spot in the day was probably being with Yvonne during spare. i haven't hung out with her for so long, i miss it. we talked about biology, universities, and strangely, the Netherland Dude.
orchestra was so damn boring, holy shit. i am so tired of Capriccio Italien. if we play it anymore after tomorrow, i'm gonne rip the music into teeny little pieces and burn it and throw them at mr. lum. and then i will laugh.
i want coffee... even though i don't drink coffee.
ok, i want caffine. ho hum...
anywhoo, i'll just end this post by saying, congrats to the madrigals for their Best of Class in Kiwanis!

i've still nothing to say for now. it must be the "sedatives" kicking in. i think only kate knows what i'm talking about...if she had read my icq message before ditching me! lol just kidding. but anyways.... my cousin came over and helped me with math. i actually learned! if only i knew she came back from her trip. i would've asked her to come yesterday, cuz my math test was today. haha oh well.
ahhh...well i have a crisis. shit shit shit! i'm not gonna post it here, cuz too many ppl read this, but i need help... from my wife kate. lol! ummmm...
anyways, time for bed. ta-ta

umm..okay i haven't blogged since friday, but i have no idea what to write. i started this last night, but i tend to just leave things, so...i'm finishing it now.
anywhoo, omg, yesterday was the most stressful day i've had with mr.lum. he layed all this guilt on me and sht. first he asked if i could help the concrt strings in their kiwanis thing, and i couldn't, cuz i wanted to go to an info session with Concordia. and then he started telling me how they're gnna go to Quebec and how fun it's gonna be, and he already knows that i'm not going, but still, he was pressing the issue to me. and i talked to Paulanne afterwards and found out that he's forcing her to go, and Paulanne might go too, cuz she has this large amount of money in her travel account. i have like...50$. that's nothing.
anyways, on top of that, i had to leave early from band cuz i have this meeting to go to. and...yeah.
ok well, time to get ready for school. ta-ta!

hello avid blog readers...
tim, where aaarrreee yoooouuu??
i'm so bored, omg. ahh... i'm all alone again. i came back from violin lessons like almost 2 hrs ago, and it went great! like, seriously! i love my new teacher, he's the best! i'm preparing for my audition. i'm playing this song i've played before when i was with Peter (my old teacher. still my brother's teacher) and...yeah. it's cool. i'm learnding! and i think tim invited me to go shopping with him, but i don't know his bloody phone number. ahhh...and i asked gajan (his friend from campbell, and for some of u who know, that dude from summer...) and he said he didn't know either. bitch!
anywhoo... today was a fun day. just to summarize, we made these bottle rockets in physics, and it was hilarious, cuz it's supposed to shoot up, but instead it went sideways, and hit ms.trinh (yea, jackie will be glad to hear that hahaha i'll have to tell him on monday) and all my other classes were boring. in math, jordan and i packed up like half an hour before we got out, and just sat there, talking.
lunch was kinda boring, to be honest, until emilia showed up. i got my transripts, 5 sheets! holy macro! and... after school, matt and i just waited til 4:30. messed around a bit (not that way! geezes christ ppl) and looked at ppl's grad comments. yea, they messed up on mine a bit. forgot a couple of spaces. and at one point, omid sanjeyan and shawn came by, and it's so frustrating how easily omid annoys me now. argg... he used to be so nice. used to. i'm still kinda bitter about the "Yvonne story" i guess. thinks he's so good...grr bastard. anywhoo, yeah, some of those comments were hilarious. Mostly Henry Holland's and Carmen's. hahaha!! a lot of ppl wrote about God too. ehhhhhh... oh well.
bleugh...ok it's too quiet. time to call someone!!

whoa...reading Carmen's recent blog made me very confused for a while. the first word i saw (well...first two) were Mandy Chui. and i was like whaaat?! lol and then i saw Carmen. hahah it's funny cuz i don't usually see her write Mandy just by itself without the Car.
anywhoo!! today was fun. i actually did work in both my spares, although during first spare i was writing a letter to Zipporah/Gabrielle. but it's still work. and Noaman decided that he wanted to go sing in classrooms as well, so he dragged Mark (Wang) and Raymond, and off they went. oh! and by the way Kate, i loved my singing telegram, i just didn't like how Brennan got the solo. i hate his singing. it's SO annoying! but then u got him too, so...meh! lunch was funny, cuz once Mike walked in the school, these ppl nearby said, "What smells like pot?" and everyone's like, "oh, that's Mike." hahaha!! anywhoo, and then during my second spare i just sat at my locker doing physics. and some ppl in the nearby Society class (Jordan's, Kamla's Mike's) were locked out (cuz they were late, knowing ms thompson) and so they were just sitting around. shortly after they went inside, i could hear Ms. Thompson yelling. it was a very scary moment. i could hear her perfectly, though the closed door, and about like, 12 meters away. it's was like, from 206 to 201. and that's pretty damn far. *shudder*
anyway, and then after school, i just hung around with Matt and co. until i had to go in for orchestra. Mr. Lum said i have an evil smile. muahahaha!! *smiles*
and that concludes my day. *wild applause*
i'd like to thank my parents, my teachers and all who've been there for me. thank you thank you!! i couldn't have done it without you!! *tear*
LOL!!! i've been having a bit too much chocolate.... which reminds me... i have to take Mike to Sugar Mountain someday...moo ahaha!!

Good News:
- we had a substitute strings teacher today, who actually knew how to teach strings!
- after, what, three years, Andy Wong is finally not first on my matchmaking listy thing. whew! well, Henry Holland is not much better, probably even worse, but it's a change. (Tim called him Hitler. hahaha! i say he's Hitler's descendant! Margaret then cut in and said Hitler didn't have blond hair. pfft! think i don't know that?!)
- i saw Cherish when i got off the bus. i haven't seen her in so long. we walked home together. (she lives directly across my house, so we were going the same way anyways)
Bad News:
- Colin Clark isn't coming to conduct us tomorrow after all. pooooh. i was so looking foreward to it too. pah!
- it was cold today and i forgot my mittens in my locker.
- 'Tis isn't such a great book afterall. dammit. where did Frank's writing skills go? (Frank is the author's name. hahah. really.)

so i went to Kiwanis today. it was okay. i ALMOST missed the bus. nah, actually i didn't. but we were driving out of the school parking lot, and we saw Sonia running towards the school. it was pretty sad. anyways, so Bethune wasn't there. i kept looking for Natalie, cuz she's in Bethune. anyways, the other school we competed against was this one from...Elgan Mills..? i think. i dunno. it's a 3 hour drive from here. the conductor dude was like, "does anyone know where Eglan Mills is?" *silence* "ok, it's between here and here" (i forgot the city names) *silence* "ok, it's near London, do u know where that is?" and we say yes, and he's like, "i don't think so..." bastard! and he kept calling us Agincourt from Scarberia. lol
anyhoo, we beat them by one percent. hahahaha!!! that'll teach 'em! but we didn't get Best of Class. stupid MacDonald got it. grr... but it's all good.
after that, we headed back to school for a while, to eat and stuff, and then we left again for choir. and yes, we did compete again Cardinal Carter, and yes, we did lose. stupid Cardinal Carter...*shaking my fist at them* and all the stuff the adjudacator said about our singing was no surprise at all. i (and i'm sure many others) thought mr.pinhorn taught us wrong, and...i think it was paulanne who told me, that people have tried teling mr.pinhorn that it's the wrong way, but he never listened. *sigh* see, if mrs. walsh was here....
and then the one at 4 was stupid, cuz it was only our school, so we were basically competing against ourselves. our competitors sang some other day. anyways, yeah, we got first place and best of class, but i thought it was stupid, cuz we weren't really that great. the one at 2 was much better. and when the ajudacator told us our standing, he was just like, "and i gave you best of class." as if we didn't earn it ourselves. gee thanks.
anyways...on the way back, i was sitting with Frances, and she's so cute. hahah and me and carmen and nique were talking about how we have to group all our pictures together so we can choose the best ones for our student ads for the yearbook, and two certain people cannot be in any of them. (if ur in VC, u should know who they are...) lol aww...but it's alright! i don't care. anyhoo, i must be going now. i have to plan my trip for Sugar Mountain...muahahaha!!! (just kidding!)

hello blog...
so carmen came over..la dee da..we asked each other these weird questions, and listened to many songs, including feller from fortune, and rubber ducky. (hee hee!) i've been listening to feller from fortune aaalll day. it's such a fun song! reminds me of mrs. walsh, cuz she's from nfld and stuff. u know...fish. hee hee!
anyways, omg, final destination 2 is such a crappy movie. well, the newspaper did give it one star, but still... ugh. well, one or two parts were okay, but overall, it sucked. if u like watching ppl having their heads pulled off and burned and stuff, then by all means, go see it, but...ugh!
on a happier note, i can play violin again! whoopee! ah fuck, now i have to prepare for my audition at Winsdor and Laurier. i'm basically screwed, cuz i dunno wut i'm gonna play.
two contrasing movements...? well...i have a huge Bach book of sonatas? but i dunno if i'm allowed to play those. hmmmmm...
"Lots of fish on Bonovist harbour, lots of fish down in around here.
Boys and girls are fishing together, 45 on conbonere!" (what the hell's a conbonere?)

i'm really starting to like Bring Me To Life by Evanescence. it's the theme song to Daredevil. it's so preeetty! hee hee
anyways, last night was fun. i had the car, so my brother and i went to see a movie (The Recruits), which was pretty good, but kinda confusing. it's about some CIA stuff. anyways, afterwards we drove to Plantations to eat dinner. i was really hungry cuz i didn't really anything beforehand. their lasagna is yummay!! mmm... the waitress came by at one point, and she was like, "wow, u eat fast!" hahaha! anyways, after that we just went home. i wanted to go to DQ for icecream, but i didn't know how to get there, so...meh!

ahh...i dunno what to post. Rick was at our school yesterday. i was just leaving, and i walked past this room..and i was like "wha? rick?" anyways, so...yeah. We talked okay. He's coaching judo on mondays and thursdays. I like seeing Rick once every six months. that way u can still talk to him without getting annoyed too easily. hahaha i'm so mean. but if u knew what it was like, u'd agree with me. but then now...i'll probably see him once a week. steer clear of the gym on monday and thursday nights...
aaanyways, so, today... it was actually a pretty good day, besides the fact that matt was home sick. i got most of my art history homework done during first spare, had a 35 minute English class, in which we recieved a cool project to do, spent the rest of first lunch with jackie and emilia. jackie and i were reminiscing the good ol' times of zipporah, and how we miss her and stuff. haha and then i spent 2nd lunch at the ACC table and then after a while kevin carmen kate mike and tim came by so we were just talking and stuff, and then carmen and i went into the caf to look at all the pretty decorations for the Business Luncheon, and looking at all the ppl in pretty clothes. and then i turned around, and carmen disappeared...and i was looking for her, and then i got kicked out by stupid Mr Charles. bastard!! he literally pushed me out of the caf. anyways, after lunch i had absolutely nothing to do, so i decided to go in the music council office, but when i went in i saw Eugene, so i just hung out with him. he wanted to watch the ppl in the luncheon so we went out, and then he told me about some girl he likes, which, coincidently, is a good friend of mine, and was in the luncheon. so yeah...we talked about that. and it was so funny cuz u could tell how obsessed he was. lol! anyways, after that i handed in my grad pics to those Lifetouch ppl, and then went to orchestra. they were having sectionals, and Strahan and I conducted the 2nds and 3rds. which was a PAIN, cuz there's these two niners, and i've known them for a really long time (we used to have the same violin teacher) but they really SUCK (after so many years...what a waste), and they have this attitute (mostly just one of them) and yeah...i got really mad at him, cuz he was looking like he's all tough and stuff, and talking to his stand partner, so i yelled at him, and then i separated them, so they won't talk.
muahaha i have the power!! (it's true...i do!)
anyways, all night i've been working on my English project. it's so fun! i haven't had a project that i have to draw and make it look pretty for a long time. so even tho it's a small project, i'm making it really nice and stuff. and *hopefully* i can grab some bonus marks.
anyhoo, eugh... it's late, i'm getting off. ta-ta!

HOLY HEART OF---OH MY GOODNESS!!
i was on mugglenet.com to read some news, and i found out that Professor Susumu Tachi of Tokyo University (yeah, another Jap) made a coat that is similar to Harry Potter's invisibility cloak! it's not 100% invisible, but it's crazy good already! kinda freaky, if u think about it...here's the pic:

holy heart of macaroni!! ( a mix of "holy moly macaroni" and "holy heart of mary") what a day today turned out to be! school wasn't much of a big deal. i had my spares, had English (which was hilarious, cuz we didn't officially start doing anything til 11:50) and...lunch was funnay. i got to see mike's carmen's nique's kate's and alexis' grad pics. tim didn't let me see his. that bastard! (jks!) umm...and then i left at 3 cuz there was nothing else to do at school, and i was hungry, so i went to get some food, and headed home. which turned out to be perfect cuz my mom came home and told me she booked me an appointment to see this guy (i'll explain later) at 4:30. and i was just thinking' wow, what a coincidence that i came home early today'
so then i changed and then we left for that interview.
and what is this whole interview thing, u ask? well, on sunday, my mom told me about this program where a bunch of adolescence kids of Chinese decent can go on this guided trip to China to find their roots. like, their parents' or grandparents' home and stuff. and my mom asked me if i wanted to go, cuz one of our family friends' son went last year and he really liked it. so naturally, i said yes, cuz this is a really good opportunity to learn about cultures and all that stuff. but on sunday there wasn't anyone there, and so my mom called them and stuff and they set this interview thing up so that we could meet the person in charge. and we talked about the trip, how it's gonna go, and filled out an application form. (which means i'm going. lol duuuh) and i'm really excited about it. it's gonna be during the march break (which means my plans of going to university open houses will have to be cancelled) and also (the cool, and weird part) is that the chinese tv ppl will also be going and documenting our trip. which means i'm gonna be on tv. i don't know how i feel about that. it'll be so weird.
aaaanyways, ahh...oh i need to call mikey...or should i wait til tomorrow...i need to ask him what he's taking next year (courses) so if i come back next year i know what to take and we'll have some classes together. us gr.12s need to stick together! and also cuz i don't wanna be a loner. hee hee
well i have nothing else to post, so ttfn!

i was at www.talkaboutcanada.ca u know that website posted around the school, telling us to go? well, anyway i went to it, and what u have to do is answer 50 mutiple choice questions and for each of the possible answers, there's a link for u to go go this other site too see if that answer is correct. and if u get all the questions correct ur entered in this draw for scholship money. vairy niiice! i did 20 so far, and let me tell u, it's not easy stuff.
well, it is easy after u read all the information. but u know...it takes time.
anyways..yea...i went to school today and got both my exams back. i'm not gonna talk about them, cuz i did not do well. calc pissed me off especially cuz i studied SO fucking hard for that, and...arggg!!
anyways! umm...choir sucked, as always, and band was not too great either. it was okay, but u know...nothing special. mr lum kicked everyone out afterwards so he could talk to the gr.12s and OACs. and he said stuff like "oh, it's your last year, and this group is very special. and even tho i will remember you, and most of the people in the grade below you will remember you, chances are that many of the grade 9s will not, and..." ok i forgot what exactly he said about that, but then he told us that we should try to talk to some other music kids and tell them to come on the Quebec trip, even tho we went to Quebec last year and a lot of us went, but not a lot of us are going this year. anyways, he said a bunch of other stuff that was really touching, and then... we left. but it made me a bit sad, knowing that it's my last kiwanis festival here, last music fest, last spring concert, last everything...*sigh* and mr. lum is one of the best music teachers i've ever had. seriouslly. (mrs. walsh is the other, obviously)
ahhh...
anyways, i'm tired. and i need to finish reading White Oleander. it's such a good book!!
